Day One
Arrive into Arusha. Meet and transfer to accommodation
followed by pre-adventure briefing

Day Two
After a leisurely morning, we travel north into the Maasai areas of Northern
Tanzania. We are met by the warriors and elders and join them in traditional
dancing and drumming. Lunch is served for all and we continue in the
trance-like style of the Maasai.

Day Three
After breakfast transfer to Arusha airport for early morning flight to
west of the Central Serengeti. Met on arrival with our drive guide and
embark on adventures of wildlife viewing. Arrive to the luxury camp
ready for a sundowner.

Day Four
After breakfast with a picnic lunch packed, we vanish off into the
endless plains of the Serengeti in search of predators and prey alike.
Depending on the season, we may see the Great Wildebeest Migration where
millions of wildebeest, zebra and Thompson gazelle follow the path of
the moving rains in search of food and water.

Day Five
Breakfast & you will have morning & afternoon game viewing
drive to look for the resident wildebeest herds & also drive along Grumeti
River where large Nile crocodiles moving with surprisingly speed and stealth
lie in wait for the wildlife coming to drink at the river.
A spectacular sight is the “kopjes”, large granite rocks that
rise like islands from a sea of grass and provide shelter to wildlife and
plants; people too lived here and left interesting traces of their presence.

Day Six
After early breakfast with picnic lunches drive to Ngorongoro
Conservation Area and descend through the mist into this 2000 ft natural
amphitheatre formed by the collapse of an extinct volcano, host to the “Big
Five” lion, buffalo, elephants, rhino and if you are fortunate,
leopards . Late afternoon ascend to Troma Lodge (Breakfast, Lunch, and
Dinner)
Day Seven
To get our bodies active again, we enjoy a leisurely walk this morning
around the gardens and coffee plantation, even venturing into the nearby
village if you choose. In the evening, we return to the campfire for some
Iraqw singing accompanied by the traditional zeezee.

Day Eight
After breakfast drive to Arusha in time for a pre-lunch yoga class. And
after lunch, the luxury of a full body massage is bestowed upon us - a great
way to absorb the peaceful surrounds at Ilboru Safari Lodge (Breakfast,
Lunch, Dinner)
Day Nine
Our morning is free to do whatever we choose: sleep in, wander into town or
enjoy an extra therapy. After lunch though is time for our energy to be
released as we have traditional dancing demonstrations and lessons. We are
able to learn the art of drumming and tribal movements that tell a story.

Day Ten
Free day to do with it as you wish. A visit into the bustling craft markets
offers a good opportunity to sample East African arts and crafts.

Day Eleven
After breakfast transfer to the airport for the afternoon flight to Dar es
Salaam. Met and transferred to the hotel for an overnight before heading
north to Tanzania’s newest National Park, Saadani.

Day Twelve
An early departure to the airport for our flight to Saadani, via Zanzibar
and arrive just before lunch. After a delicious meal, taken to the game
driving in this unique area where the bush meets the beach. Saadani Safari Lodge (Breakfast, Lunch, Dinner)
Day Thirteen
A day of schedule activities by the lodge, including game driving. The
option of an exciting boat safari is available with arrangements made
personally at the lodge.

Transfer to airstrip for flight to Dar es Salaam to meet our travel plans
for beyond…
